Frank Williams, founder of Jewelry Organizers And More, has over 25 years of professional experience designing a variety of handcrafted items. He began taking industrial arts classes in intermediate school and soon started making lamps, cutting boards, shadow boxes, and other items for family and friends. He continued taking wood and metal shop classes in high school and his love of woodworking grew.
After high school, Frank opened a shop called “The Strip Joint” where he specialized in refinishing, repairs, and making custom accent pieces for customers all over the DC metro area. After a hiatus that included a move to the West Coast, Frank returned to northern Virginia and once again began designing and building custom furniture in his home-based workshop in Manassas. Self-made and self-taught, Frank enjoys the challenge of learning new techniques and designing tools, such as specialized assembly jigs and cutting jigs. He is known to get lost in the creative process, taking the pieces he envisions in his mind’s eye from a vision to a drawing to a prototype and finally, to a beautiful finished product.
While he started out making large-scale custom-made furniture, including sofa tables, vanities, curio cabinets, and coffee tables, Frank transitioned to creating smaller accent pieces, such as wine racks, keepsake boxes, and jewelry organizers, after attending a craft show and seeing the marketability of such items. The feedback from customers was overwhelmingly positive at his first show and he never looked back. Years later, Jewelry Organizers And More continues to grow and now participates in craft shows along the East Coast throughout the year. Conversations with customers continue to inspire Frank to create new home accessory pieces, with the goal of having a “new release” item to unveil at every show.
